If you didn’t know I’m a HUGE fan of Netflix’s “Last Chance U”. I loved the first season because it was a dramatic almost gritty look at the these Junior College Football team giving kids a second chance to achieving their dream of playing professional football. Of course, the first season had what I like to call the epic fight that derailed the final part of the season, which was probably the highlight of that season. Of course, then I had to tune into season two to see how Coach Buddy would turn it all around and get the program back on track. We can’t forget about Ms. Brittney who was always making sure the boys had pencils and didn’t take their B.S.
So when it was announced that there would be a third season of the show I was absolutely pumped, especially when I heard that the show would focus on a new school. Which only meant that I would have a whole new bunch of crazy characters to root for and hopefully some new drama to sink my teeth into. I will admit that I completely forgot when the new season was premiering because ya know life is crazy, but when I had some time I was finally able to sit down and watch a few minutes, twenty minutes to be exact.
And guys I’m already hooked on the new program. Head Coach Jason Brown is exactly the kind of coach for this program. He grew up in Compton, California which is not an easy place to grow up and he’s tough as nails, plus he’s also doing everything by himself. He doesn’t have a staff of people to do things, so you’ll see him building a weight room and ensuring that his players have uniforms (which from what I gathered is a major bone of contention leading up to their first game) and also serving as a tougher maler version of Ms. Brittney.
Don’t worry he’s also got the mouth of a sailor on him so there isn’t a shortage of expletives being thrown around. Which only serves to enhance the tension and drama in my humble opinion.
I know that I should curb my enthuisiam since I’ve only watched twenty-ish minutes of the first episode, but I can’t. I’ve got a good feeling about this season and I don’t think that my opinion will be swayed throughout the season, but have no fear I will definitely keep you posted on my overall thoughts on the season in a more in-depth post later.
Until then, kick back, grab some snacks, and enjoy “Last Chance U”.
